McDonald's Dollar Menu and Value Menu: Status and Lowest Observed Prices

No food item in our delivery sample costs $1. The cheapest food listing was Apple Slices at $1.39, and the cheapest sandwich was a Hamburger at $3.04. Both are average DoorDash delivery listings across sampled U.S. locations, Aug 19–Sep 29, 2026. We have not verified which national value program, if any, is running now.

Is there still a Dollar Menu?

All deals and their status

The answer has two parts: what the name used to mean, and what we can confirm today.

The Dollar Menu as a past program

McDonald's used the name Dollar Menu for a U.S. value lineup of low-price items. Over the years it was renamed and restructured into tiered value menus that no longer held everything at $1. We treat the original Dollar Menu as a past program, not a current offer.

Exact launch, rename and end dates are not on this page because we have not yet tied each one to a primary source. They will be added only once they are documented.

The current value program

Value bundles and app offers change often. They also depend on the restaurant. We list a value program as current only after we confirm it on an official U.S. McDonald's page, along with its terms and end date. That has not happened yet.

Not verified

We could not confirm a current national value menu, its prices or its participation terms from official U.S. pages. Any advertised value price you see elsewhere may not apply at your restaurant.

Each price averages the latest listing at each sampled location where the item appeared, with equal weight per location. Items can come from different sets of locations. Calories show Not verified until they are recorded from official U.S. pages. Condiment packets and add-ons such as butter or ketchup are excluded from this table; see sauces and condiments.

Data anomaly

One dessert listing, 2 Fried Apple Pies, averaged $2.49 for its Base, Single and 2 Pack options alike. The single Fried Apple Pie averaged $2.99. Because the names and option labels conflict, we left the $2.49 listing out of the table above.

Cheapest drinks in the sample

The lowest small fountain drink was Fanta Grape at $1.59. Most small sodas, including Coke and Sprite, averaged about $2.14. A small hot tea averaged $1.73, and Milk $1.91 (delivery averages). Full size tables are on the drink menu prices page.

Why delivery listings run above advertised value prices

Delivery vs in-store prices explained

Our data comes from DoorDash menus. That is one reason the cheapest items here cost more than a typical value-menu headline.

  • Delivery menus are priced separately

Restaurants can set delivery-app prices that differ from what they charge at the counter or in the official app. We did not collect in-store prices, so we cannot measure the gap.

  • Value offers are often app-only

Many McDonald's promotions are redeemed in the official app or at the restaurant. A promotion that does not appear as a delivery listing is not in this dataset.

  • Participation varies

Prices and promotions are set at the restaurant level. Even when an offer is advertised nationally, a restaurant may not take part. Advertising terms often say so.

  • Fees are not in these figures

The averages are menu-listing prices only. Delivery fees, service fees, tips and sales tax are not included, so a real delivery order costs more.

Editorial note

Treat these listings as an upper reference for a regular item, not as what a value deal costs. To find the lowest price at your restaurant, compare the official app's menu and Deals section with what you see on a delivery app.

Limitations

Each item's average may come from a different set of locations, so these sums do not match any single restaurant's total. The meal comparisons set a Medium meal against Small sides. The sizes differ, but the result holds anyway because the meal costs less. Meal drink choices and contents can vary. See what a combo meal includes, cookie pack prices and fries and sides by size.

Common questions

Can you still order anything for $1 at McDonald's?

Not as food in our delivery sample. The only listings under $1 were condiments and add-ons, such as packets and sauce cups. The cheapest food item was Apple Slices at $1.39, a delivery average. In-store or app prices may be lower, but we have not verified them.

What is the cheapest burger in the data?

The Hamburger, at $3.04. Next came the Cheeseburger at $3.42 and the Double Hamburger at $4.10. The McDouble averaged $4.44. All are delivery averages across sampled U.S. locations, Aug 19–Sep 29, 2026.

Are these prices the value-menu prices?

No. They are regular DoorDash delivery listings. Value offers can be priced differently, may only work in the official app, and depend on whether your restaurant takes part. Current offers we have verified are listed on the deals page.

Is a meal cheaper than buying the items separately?

In the averages we checked, yes. The McChicken Meal (Medium, $8.99) and the McDouble Meal (Medium, $8.04) each cost less than the sandwich plus small fries and a small Coke bought separately. Check your restaurant's prices, because single locations can differ.
